The Shoreline Community Chorale's Upcoming Concert

The Chorale will perform its Fall 2009 concert on Friday evening, November 13, 2009 at 8:00 p.m. at the First Congregational Church of Madison, 26 Meetinghouse Ln., right on the Madison Green.

The concert, Wine: Sacred and Profane, comprises music from both Church and Tavern and explores the joy and mystery of wine, which, in the words of Napolean, "inspires and adds greatly to the joy of living."

This season, we're singing:

  • Gabriel Fauré's "Messe Basse"
  • "O Fortuna" from Carl Orff's, "Carmina Burana"
  • Selections from opera (serious and light), including Die Fledermaus, Tales of Hoffman, The Student Prince and Pirates of Penzance
  • The spiritual "Drinkin' of the Wine" by Rosephanye Powell
  • Mancini's "Days of Wine and Roses"
  • "Hymn to Wine" by the Chorale's own composer/arranger, Ted Sloan
  • A madrigal by Doreen Rao, "Sweeter than the King's Wine"

… and more!

We hope to see you there!
